Weekend Adventures Near Sole Mia

The Shoreline really has everything for a perfect weekend. Want to start your Saturday being active? No problem. Exercise in our indoor fitness center or break a sweat going for a run on our Community Fitness Trail. If you’re looking for more of a low-key day, lounge on the beaches of Laguna Sole or in the resort-style cabanas next to our pool. Watch the game or a movie in one of two resident lounges, work on your bicycle in our bike repair room, and end the day making ‘smores over our outdoor fire pit. 

And while most residents feel like they never want to leave, even the best of us get antsy and long for adventure. There’s plenty of opportunities near Sole Mia to create new memories and bond with friends and family. Read on to find out about all the great spots nearby for fun weekend adventures. 

 

Explore Oleta River State Park

Florida’s largest urban state park, Oleta River offers a ton of different activities for your whole day (or even weekend!). Although the Shoreline is right around the corner from the State Park, visitors have the option to reserve a campsite or a cabin. 

 

One of the most popular attractions at Oleta River is the mountain biking. Oleta River offers over 10 miles of bike trails, ranging from beginner to expert. There’s also canoeing & kayaking available, as well as multiple areas for picnicking. Another cool feature is the Gardens, specifically the Butterfly Garden, which attracts various butterflies every season. 

 

Spend the Day at North Miami Beach

Craving the healing power of salt water? Head on over to North Miami Beach. While Laguna Sole’s beach is wonderful, sometimes it’s nice to be able to look out at the horizon over the Atlantic. Don’t forget your favorite beach activities, like kadima, volleyball and more!

 

Go Back in Time at the Ancient Spanish Monastery

Take a step back in time! Tour the beautiful structure of the Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux, originally built in 1133! The building was originally brought over to the U.S. in 1925 by William Randolph Hearst. From the architecture to the grounds surrounding it, the Ancient Spanish Monastery is full of beauty. It’s the perfect activity for families, friends or for a solo adventure. Enjoy a free guided tour on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. when you buy your admission ticket. 

 

Flip, Jump & Race at Dezerland Park

On the other side of Biscayne Boulevard sits one of the best all-day entertainment facilities North Miami could ask for - Dezerland Park! Dezerland Park has it all: go-karting, trampoline courts, a ninja course, an arcade, mini bowling & so much more. It’s the perfect day activity for a family, or simply for a group of friends. Make a Catch or Two Out on the Atlantic

Why not try to catch dinner? Dozens of fishing boat rental companies offer half-day or full day rates for small groups. Deep sea fishing is great for beginners, as it does not involve any sophisticated techniques. Catch tuna, marlin or mahi-mahi, all or which are native to our Miami waters.
